Infectious disease diagnostic Hepatitis B e Antgen(HBeAg) for Automatic immunoassay analyzer in Infectious Disease
This product is used to quantitatively detect the content of hepatitis B virus e antigen in human serum or plasma in vitro.
Hepatitis B virus e-antigen (HBeAg), commonly known as e-antigen. HBeAg is a soluble component of the core antigen, which is a marker of hepatitis B infectivity and an important indicator of the development of acute hepatitis B to chronicity. HBeAg has a special correlation with HBV and can only be detected in HBeAg-positive serum.
HBeAg is not a structural protein of virus, nor is it involved in virus replication, but it can play an important role in the immune response after virus infection. First, as a target antigen for infected cells, HBe/cAg determinants can induce host immune responses on the surface of infected hepatocytes in synergy with human leukocyte antigen-I (HLA-1). Meanwhile, as an immunoregulatory factor, HBeAg can regulate the host's immune response, inhibit the cytotoxic activity of host T cells, and form immune tolerance to HBV infection.
In the acute phase of hepatitis B, if HBeAg remains positive for 3 months after the onset, it may be the earliest basis for the development of acute hepatitis B to chronic. A persistent positive HBeAg in chronic hepatitis indicates persistent HBV infection and is a sign of active hepatitis.
The viral envelope of an enveloped virus has different surface proteins from the rest of the virus which act as antigens. These antigens are recognized by antibody proteins that bind specifically to one of these surface proteins.
Immunoassay
Today, these antigen-proteins can be genetically manufactured (e.g. transgene E. coli) to produce material for a simple antigen test, which detects the presence of HBV.
It is present in the sera of patients with viral hepatitis B (with or without clinical symptoms). Patients who developed antibodies against HBsAg (anti-HBsAg seroconversion) are usually considered non-infectious. HBsAg detection by immunoassay is used in blood screening, to establish a diagnosis of hepatitis B infection in the clinical setting (in combination w
